Full-Day Mammoth Lakes Elopement Session | California Adventure Wedding Photographer
Sunrise and Sunset Session at June Lake Loop and Convict Lake
Eastern Sierra is always known for its gorgeous sunrise but nobody ever told us the sunset would be just as beautiful, especially during golden hour. So when Jo and Felicia asked us to do their couple session at Mammoth Lakes, of course, we freaked out. They just had their wedding a month before our session and they wanted to do a destination post-wedding pictorial. We noticed lately more couples opt for a post-wedding pictorial and we are here for it. We have only been to Mammoth Lakes once but we had such an amazing experience and we always knew we will bring our couples here. We decided to do a road trip together from LA. We went early in the morning and arrived at Mammoth Lakes Town just in time for lunch. We decided to go to June Lake Loop for our sunset session. It was our first time exploring June Lake Loop. We did most of our research through Inyo National Forest site, Google Earth, and stalking famous Instagram photographers.
There were several lakes that we wanted to go but we decided to just follow our gut feelings. As soon as we arrive at the June Lake Loop area, we saw gorgeous fall colors turning the lakeside orange and yellow. We spent the whole afternoon photographed Jo and Felicia at Gull Lake and Silver Lake. It got really chilly after sunset but we brought tons of hot packs and blankets for our couple (yes we borrowed it from the hotel). In the morning, we woke up so early to catch the sunrise by Convict Lake. We arrived right before sunrise and y’all can see in the photos the sky was literally pink. We immediately stopped the car, grabbed our camera, and led Jo and Felicia to the fields with Eastern Sierra Mountain in the background. There were no people around when we were shooting. This is why we love adventure sessions like this. Yes, you have to sacrifice sleep sometimes but it was worth it. Take a look at these photos from our Mammoth Lakes couple session and hope you have a magical day.
